In addition to the ISW role of undertaking assessments (court, fostering, adoption, SGO, immigration matters), I work with a variety of clients including local authorities, independent fostering providers, and CoramBAAF, providing a range of services such as independent consultancy, training, complaints investigation, and individual coaching, mentoring, and supervision.
Previous roles
Consultant Social Worker & Trainer - Child Centred Practice, 2010
Developing and delivering practice training to social workers in various authorities. I continued to work with this organisation on a freelance basis until 2021.
Area Child Care Co-ordinator - Surrey County Council, 2007-2010
This was a QA and safeguarding role, focusing on continuous practice development and improvement.
Service Manager - Cafcass, 2004-2007
Overseeing service planning, development and delivery in Surrey, including managing Family Court Advisers and self-employed Guardians.
Family Court Adviser - Cafcass, 1999-2004
Working with families/parents in dispute in an attempt to achieve the best outcomes for their children. This included individual work with children, preparing reports for court and attending court as appropriate.
